Ileostomy Research at Ulster University
Researchers at Ulster University – otherwise known as the Stomasense Research Group – have long collaborated with IA Northern Ireland in the design and delivery of a range of research studies, with the primary aim of improving quality of life for people living with a stoma. Recently, the team were recognised for the merit of their research and awarded for the “Best Paper” in a scientific journal. We were delighted to hear of the group’s success and even more so when they reached out to the local committee to donate the prize money, as thanks for their ongoing support of ileostomy-based research.

Niamh Magee (PhD researcher at Ulster University and IA NI committee member) presented Anne Demick (IA NI acting secretary) with a cheque for £455 at the spring meeting on 22 March.
